Tranzeo and TRG Advance Indonesian WiMAX Joint Development

First phase of deal valued at US$10 million for Tranzeo and coincides with Indonesia's release of new spectrum for wireless broadband

PITT MEADOWS, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Jan. 27, 2009) - Tranzeo Wireless Technologies Inc. (TSX:TZT), a premier manufacturer of wireless broadband and WiMAX communication systems, and partner PT. Teknologi Riset Global (TRG), a subsidiary of leading telecommunication infrastructure provider the Indonesian Tower Group, are moving forward with the first phase of a joint development agreement to produce WiMAX subscriber units for the Indonesian market.

The Indonesian government announced on January 22, 2009 two ministry decrees and three regulations releasing spectrum at 2.3GHz and 3.3GHz for wireless broadband access across all regions of Indonesia. The decrees and regulations outline the migration of existing services at 3.5GHz to 3.3GHz in addition to new services at 2.3GHz and 3.3GHz.

The TRG WiMAX system will enable Indonesian telecom operators to provide next-generation network services to subscribers who have never had access to more than conventional Internet services.

Tranzeo and TRG have been collaborating on a family of WiMAX devices which will be incorporated into TRG's total WiMAX solution for Indonesian carriers. The initial phase of this partnership is worth US$10 million to Tranzeo. Tranzeo expects the partnership to produce over 1.5 million subscriber units over the next five years. In support of the government's requirement to develop local telecommunications production capability, the jointly developed products will be produced in Jakarta, Bandung and Batam, Indonesia.

"Through our WiMAX joint development with Tranzeo, TRG is able to rapidly deploy a cost-effective wireless broadband solution for our telecom customers," said Sakti Wahyu Trenggono, President Director of Indonesian Tower. "Indonesia is on the brink of a major communications breakthrough with the potential to connect millions of subscribers to broadband services for the first time."

"Tranzeo has developed advanced WiMAX technology and the joint production with TRG becomes very attractive for developing economies like Indonesia where geographic, economic and technological obstacles have delayed broadband wireless access for too long," said Jim Tocher, President and CEO of Tranzeo.
